City Overview The historic City of Mount Rainier, MD is a residential community sitting on the border of Washington, DC and Prince George's County, MD. Serving 8,500 residents, the community is a small urban oasis of historic homes and unique shops. The city employs a staff of forty people to serve the community. Salary The salary range is $40,928 to $42,464, commensurate with experience and education. Position Summary A Public Works Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance work associated with the waste management, street and facility maintenance duties of the Public Works Department. Employees are required to perform heavy physical labor in outdoor weather conditions, using a variety of tools and equipment. This position will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the City's commercial areas, including public streets, parks, and other public spaces, and or projects as assigned. The position requires physical labor performed outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, and as needed on weekends.
