General Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift (Temp to Hire)
Location: 4303 Lakeside Pkwy, Grapevine, TX 76051 | Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00/hr | Shift: Mon-Fri, 6am-3pm
About the Role
Join a dynamic operations and maintenance team as a General Maintenance Technician in a commercial campus environment. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers hands-on experience with building equipment, fixtures, and systems, with pathways for professional growth and potential full-time employment.
Responsibilities
- Perform emergency and preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment (HVAC, pumps, hydraulic systems, RO/DI water systems, compressed air/gas systems, etc.)
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
- Conduct regular inspections and planned maintenance using the CMMS system
- Support installation and inspection of new equipment and renovations
- Collaborate with coworkers, contractors, vendors, and management to deliver project and maintenance support
- Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and provide feedback on equipment performance
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and company standards (including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and job hazard analysis)
- Maintain flexibility to adjust scheduling based on business needs
- Provide exceptional customer service and timely updates on work orders
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
- Minimum of three years' maintenance experience in industrial HVAC, industrial mechanical machine repair, or automotive repair
- Ability to safely operate aerial and scissor lifts up to 30 feet
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and computer-based work order systems
- Physically able to walk extensively, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift moderate weights
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Eligible to pass pre-employment substance abuse screening, obtain a security badge, and (if required) possess a valid driver's license
Preferred Skills
- Associates degree or trade school certification (Industrial Mechanical, HVAC, or related field)
- Experience with 480V 3-phase electrical systems and industrial HVAC/R equipment
- Familiarity with vacuum systems, RO/DI water systems, plumbing, and refrigeration
- Advanced troubleshooting of large commercial mechanical equipment
- Working knowledge of meters, meggers, and shop equipment
