General Manager

Bemana is helping to hire a General Manager in Houston, TX on behalf ofan established global leader in industrial gear manufacturing, mechanical engineering and turbomachinery assembly and testing space.

As the General Manager, you'll be responsible for building out, scaling and driving full operational and financial performance for a new Houston service and staging facility. You will lead strategic growth, service operations, customer acquisition and P&L management while continuing to establish brand presence in the US market.

The ideal candidate brings strong operational and sales leadership, solutions-oriented business development experience and an entrepreneurial mindset to manage a flexible operation with high standards for quality, accountability and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage annual budgets, capital plans, operating costs and overall P&L performance.
  
• Establish, build out, and run a new staging and service facility, defining processes and shop-floor execution.
• Maintain and grow key customer relationships across oil & gas, and aggressively expand into refineries, compressors, power generation, and turbomachinery markets.
• Recruit, structure, and direct the growth of a local team (scaling from 1 junior tech to 3–5 core operational/technician roles in Year 1).
• Oversee procurement, inventory, vendor management, and support ERP system implementation for shop-floor tracking and receiving. 
• Ensure all operational, mechanical, safety, and regulatory standards are consistently met on-site, fostering a proactive zero-defect safety culture.
  
• Act as the primary face of the company, interfacing directly with demanding customers and coordinating with global product experts and parent companies for specialized technical support.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership/management experience.
  
• Background in turbomachinery, gear space, rotating equipment, heavy industrial engineering or oil & gas service.
• Direct experience managing financial statements, budgeting, cost control, and strategic 1-, 3-, and 5-year business execution plans.
• Proven track record starting up a line, facility, new operation, or expanding a service footprint.
• Demonstrated ability to secure new business, engage key industrial accounts, and expand service footprint
  
• Familiarity with ERP/MES implementation and operational workflows.
• High degree of personal accountability, open communication style, thick skin receptive to constructive criticism, and strong problem-solving agility.
