General Manager

GENERAL MANAGER

This position will begin late September/early November and will end in March.

Under the supervision of Rink Management Services Corporation (RMSC), manages the entire scope of the facility.  Represents RMSC in a professional manner and operates facility in their best interest.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• As the on-site representative of RMSC, must uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Effective recruitment, hiring, and processing of all facility employees
• Effectively uses administrative and leadership skills to supervise employees
• Responsible for ensuring all proper training modules are completed for all employees, including staff training sessions on site and online programs
• Scheduling staff with attention to payroll budget
• Management of day-to-day operations that include, but are not limited to: programs, events, and physical facilities
• Oversight of rink installation and take-down processes
• Ability to perform all job duties at facility
• Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately
• Communicates professionally verbally and in writing
• Promptly responds to emails and phone calls
• Ensures and promotes excellent customer service
• Immediate and complete reporting of all liability issues
• Responsible for all cash handling including reconciling petty cash daily, and daily bank deposits
• Maintains a clean and safe facility
• Daily revenue reporting
• Responsible for generating daily, weekly and monthly reports
• Responsible for maintaining all RMSC office equipment, facility equipment and materials
• Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS 

Work is performed in several settings:

• An office environment
• A recreational facility
• Working indoors and outdoors
• Some off-site promotion
• Facilities which include working on ice

This position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and ice skating.

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED 

Standard office equipment that includes computers, fax and copy machines, telephones, and cash registers.  Maintenance and cleaning equipment that include ice resurfacers, ice maintenance equipment, skate sharpeners, vacuums, mops and any other equipment associated with use in a recreational facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree 
• Two years’ experience as a facility manger or equivalent
• Work experience at an ice facility and resurfacing is preferred
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
