Fahrenheit Advisors is assisting Gillies Creek, a growing recycling and aggregates operation in the Richmond region, in the search for a hands-on General Manager to lead daily operations and oversee overall business performance. This role is ideal for a leader who is comfortable being in the yard, working alongside teams, and driving operational excellence. This is an on site position based in Richmond, VA.

The General Manager will report directly to ownership and serve as a key connector between operations, sales, and office functions-ensuring strong communication, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations, sales, and other functions to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Review production, equipment performance, and material costs with department managers.
  • Guide pricing strategy, quoting, and key customer relationships.
  • Lead and support department managers, promoting accountability and professional growth.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Resolve day-to-day challenges and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
  • Maintain oversight of safety performance and reporting in coordination with the Operations Manager.
  • Represent the company at community, customer, and industry events.
  • Assist ownership with capital purchase reviews and long-term planning.
What We're Looking For
  • Background in aggregates, recycling, quarry, or heavy construction operations.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple departments and manage people effectively.
  • Understanding of equipment, production, and operational cost control.
