Job Description

Electrical General Superintendent Salary: $90,000–$125,000 annually

We are seeking an experienced Electrical General Superintendent to provide field leadership across multiple construction projects. This position is responsible for managing field personnel, manpower, materials, equipment, schedules, safety, quality, and overall field execution.

The General Superintendent will work closely with project teams, field leadership, clients, inspectors, utilities, and other trades to keep projects moving safely and efficiently while meeting scope, schedule, quality, and budget expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews, including Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, and Laborers.
  • Train and develop field personnel at all levels.
  • Assign and coordinate manpower based on project requirements and schedules.
  • Make sure field teams have the tools, equipment, materials, documentation, training, and certifications needed to perform their work.
  • Oversee field installation to ensure work meets project scope, applicable codes, safety requirements, quality standards, and accepted industry methods.
  • Monitor project schedules, field progress, labor hours, labor budgets, and material budgets.
  • Coordinate construction activities between internal teams, the General Contractor, other trades, utilities, inspectors, and building systems.
  • Review project documents and evaluate changes, including bid drawings and ASIs, within contract requirements and timelines.
  • Perform material takeoffs and coordinate procurement of project materials and equipment.
  • Review construction methods and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of planned and completed work.
  • Coordinate constructability and compatibility between trades, including multi-discipline overlays.
  • Schedule inspections and coordinate with jurisdictional inspectors and utility companies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to review safety, performance, progress, and quality.
  • Maintain field connectivity with clients, project teams, and other trades.
  • Document site walks and project progress with photos.
  • Maintain daily accounting of completed work against project scope and schedule.
  • Ensure required project forms and field documentation are completed and submitted on time.
  • Track project risks and develop contingency plans when needed.
  • Maintain inventories of jobsite equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Ensure company and project-owner safety and environmental requirements are followed.
  • Communicate project staffing requirements with management.
  • Attend design meetings, project status meetings, and other required project meetings.
  • Coordinate and maintain project schedules, including activities and durations involving internal trades, the General Contractor, and other trades.
  • Provide owner training as required.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of construction industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working as an Electrical General Superintendent.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage field personnel effectively.
  • Experience communicating and coordinating with clients and staff.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state where the work is performed.
  • Basic English proficiency is required to understand safety information, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with coworkers, vendors, and contractors.
