The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

## The impact you'll make

Join our team as a Global Product Support Engineer to support robotic path planning and computer vision algorithms, as well as lead in system integration and testing (both HW and SW). Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to test, and troubleshoot special application end effectors on a 6-axis robot. The ideal candidate is organized, thorough, and thrives in a dynamic, start-up-like environment. Hands-on development and prototyping are essential for success.

## What you'll do

• Work with robotic paths/behaviors for 6-axis arms.
• Working with ROS/ROS2.
• Test learning pipeline for computer vision algorithms.
• Test, and troubleshoot robotic systems.
• Integrate sensors and actuators into robotic systems and analyze and optimize robotic system performance and accuracy.
• Documentation of new applications.
• Own tasks and projects, ensuring proper release and hand-off.
• Apply engineering theories and methods to solve technical problems.
• Generate reports to support technical recommendations.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Work onsite flex in the lab 3 days/week.
• Train and mentor other Engineers.
• Travel up to 20%-30%.

## Who we're looking for

• Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
• Experience in mechatronics, robotics or related field.
• 3-10 years of experience in robotics (manipulation) and computer vision.
• Excellent intuition with system hardware and physics.
• Background in robotics /machine learning /reinforcement learning.
• Experience with C++ and Python in Linux environments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of Design of Experiment (DOE) principles.
• Ability to work independently.
• Understanding of statistical process control and analysis.
• Experience in project management.

## Preferred qualifications

• Semiconductor experience in a customer fab highly preferred.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $125,000.00 - $270,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
