Our rapidly-growing Austin-based team is empowering a global community of students with access to on-demand, delightful learning that truly engages.

Our cinematic, short-form videos are tailor-made for today's young learners. These are students who are accustomed to the best of consumer media and expect the same from their education. We're racing to re-imagine what's possible in the classroom, and we want you on this team. Subject sells digital curriculum, credit recovery, CTE pathways, ELD, Teacher of Record, and virtual school solutions to K–12 districts. You'll lead both the sales and customer success teams in Austin, through their leaders.

The role

We're hiring a General Manager to run our Austin office. This is a mini-CEO seat: you own the office ARR number and the culture of the building. You report into our GTM C-suite, but nobody is going to run Austin for you. We are mimicking Uber's early city-GM model: one person owns the market, top to bottom.

What you'll own

• The number. Full accountability for Austin's ARR, new business, expansion, and retention.

• The team. You lead through leaders. You hire them, coach them, and hold the bar for them, and for the AEs, AMs, and supporting GTM roles underneath them.

• The office. You set the tone. Energy, standards, and how it feels to walk in on a Monday morning are yours.

The Bar

• Direct to the point of blunt. You say the hard thing in the room, to your team and to your boss. Candor delivered with respect. This is a championship sports team, you are the office head coach for the GTM team and you will bring the intensity to each practice.

• You set the pace. Your output is the ceiling everyone else measures against. This is not a role you can do at 80%.

• You can move a room. You rally a team on a bad quarter and you lead. People follow you because they want to.

• You manage up relentlessly. You bring the ask, the plan, and the pushback before anyone requests it. You don't wait for a scheduled meeting to raise something that matters.

• You speak finance fluently. Unit economics, quota capacity, burn, ramp, payback. You can build the model yourself and you can defend every cell of it under pressure.
