The General Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all Houston operations, including Mitigation, Reconstruction, Contents, and Sales. This role is accountable for driving revenue growth, profitability, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and employee development. The ideal candidate will have strong restoration industry experience, leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage teams, financial performance, and business operations while ensuring compliance with company standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of running a restoration organization
  • Manage quality control and assurances protocols
  • Ensure projects are collected per company parameters
  • Implement procedures and hold key personnel accountable
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing employees
  • Create, execute, and manage plans to increase sales, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to successfully generate new business and build client relationships
  • Ability to review estimates and job profitability
  • Analyze and manage budgets
  • Locate and hire subcontractors
  • Oversee the maintenance of facilities
  • Conduct performance evaluations of all direct reports
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all Houston operations, including Mitigation, Reconstruction, Contents, and Emergency Response services.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, production metrics, job profitability, customer satisfaction, and collections.
  • Drive accountability and performance across all departments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and service delivery.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in the insurance restoration industry
  • 5+ year general management experience
  • Experience in both mitigation & reconstruction and handling fire loss jobs
  • Experience with Dash and QuickBooks a plus
  • Proven ability to build, motivate, and maintain high performing teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and software systems
  • Knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating software is a must
  • WRT, ASD, IICRC is a plus
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, highly accountable, and committed to continual self-development
  • BA/BS preferred in construction management, or equivalent experience.

Financial Management:

  • Maintain full P&L responsibility for the Houston branch.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, revenue targets, and expense controls.
  • Review job costing, gross margins, accounts receivable, and collection efforts.
  • Partner with finance and operations teams to improve cash flow and reduce aging receivables.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop department managers and field personnel.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts.

Sales & Business Development:

  • Partner with Business Development Representatives and Sales teams to drive market growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with insurance carriers, adjusters, property managers, commercial clients, and referral partners.
  • Support catastrophe response efforts and large-loss opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expansion strategies within the Houston market.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IICRC Certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT, OCT, or related).
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience managing large-loss commercial restoration projects.
  • Experience with acquisitions, integrations, or multi-location operations.
  • Sales Force experience,

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to job sites, client meetings, and branch locations as needed.
  • Ability to work extended hours during emergency response and catastrophe events.
  • Ability to occasionally lift to 25 pounds.
