Academic Advisors provide academic guidance and holistic support to an assigned caseload of diverse undergraduate Weekday College students in a range of majors/programs. Academic Advisors work collaboratively with students to assist them through their academic journey. This includes helping students to understand and take ownership of their academic requirements and progress, teaching students about Alverno's ability-based curriculum, assisting students in exploring/identifying career pathways, navigating issues/concerns, and fostering time/life balance. Academic Advisors also are involved with and often coordinate/lead campus-wide advising and retention-focused projects, functions and activities.

Alverno College is looking for a Goalkeeper Coach who supports the Women's Soccer program by providing specialized instruction, training, and development for student-athletes in the goalkeeper position. This individual will work under the direction of the Head Women's Soccer Coach. The Goalkeeper Coach develops technical and tactical skills, supports overall team training and competition, and contributes to a positive student-athlete experience consistent with the mission and values of the College and NCAA and conference requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct specialized goalkeeper training sessions focused on technical, tactical, physical, and mental development.
• Provide instruction in areas including positioning, shot stopping, handling, distribution, footwork, communication, crosses, one-on-one situations, and set pieces.
• Assess goalkeeper performance and provide individualized feedback and development plans.
• Assist the Head Coach with team practices, training sessions, and game preparation.
• Participate in practices, home and away competitions, and other team activities as assigned.
• Assist with game analysis and evaluation of goalkeeper performance.
• Support the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes, as assigned.
• Promote academic success, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and the overall development and well-being of student-athletes.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture.
• Follow all College, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Participate in required departmental meetings, training, and professional development.
• Perform other duties related to the soccer program as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics administration.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant coaching or playing experience may be considered.
• Previous experience coaching goalkeepers or playing goalkeeper at the collegiate, professional, or other highly competitive level preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of goalkeeper techniques, tactics, training methods, and player development.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff, and other members of the College community.
• Commitment to supporting the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.
• Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA and applicable conference rules and regulations.
• Thorough knowledge of goalkeeper-specific techniques and training principles.
• Ability to develop training activities appropriate to individual skill and experience levels.
• Ability to evaluate performance and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Strong motivational and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a coaching staff.
• Sound judgment and commitment to student-athlete safety and well-being.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet College driving requirements may be required.
