JOB SUMMARY:

Join our team at Mission Hills North Gary Player Course and work in a scenic and dynamic environment! The Golf Shop Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to members and guests while maintaining the organization and operations of the golf shop. This position involves assisting customers with purchases, managing tee times, and ensuring a welcoming environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service:

• Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring an excellent customer experience.
• Assist customers with product selection, purchases, and returns.
• Answer inquiries about products, services, and course information.

Operations:

• Maintain inventory accuracy, restocking shelves, and assisting with inventory counts.
• Manage tee time reservations and coordinate with golf course staff.
• Process sales transactions using a point-of-sale system.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop.

Team Collaboration:

• Work with other staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Communicate effectively with the golf professional team regarding member and guest needs.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic math and computer skills; experience with POS systems preferred.
• Familiarity with golf equipment and terminology is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, REQUIREMENTS, AND WORK CONDITIONS:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 30 pounds.
• Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping.
• Work is performed in a retail environment with occasional exposure to outdoor elements.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, to meet the demands of the golf course and special events.

Overtime may be available as required and will be compensated in compliance with California labor laws.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting Pay Scale: $17.00-$18.50 per hour

Within this range, individual pay is determined by factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training.
