Our client, a large financial services company, is seeking an experienced Government Relations Associate for a 6 month contract assignment located in Charlotte, NC. This role is remote with occasional in-person meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and monitor legislation and regulation that is relevant to the company and communicate any developments and potential impacts to business partners creating a collaborative environment to establish policy positions on key legislation and regulation
Identify relevant legislative and regulatory priorities in coordination with business partners and build internal coalitions on issue-specific matters to ensure cross-functional approach to policy development
Represent the company on relevant trade association committees and working groups
Assist in the collection of data on an annual basis to support the companys public disclosure initiatives as they relate to material sustainability initiatives
Maintain, document, and enhance formal policies and procedures that the team relies on to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
Track and document all engagements the team has with legislators and regulators by individual, topic, and outcome of the engagement
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
3+ years in supporting Government Relations or related field
Knowledge of the legislative/regulatory process required, with life insurance/financial services experience a plus
Strong analytical ability and oral and written communications skills
Ability to effectively interact with internal clients
Understanding of relevant trade associations and how the organization works in collaboration with them
A team attitude, ability to work collaboratively across functions
Pay Rate- $30.00- $40.00/hour
