Job Description

Calnin and Goss, a subsidiary of the Boldt Group

Location: Traveling

At Calnin and Goss, we build more than complex projects, and we build strong relationships, great teams, and lasting impact.

Join Calnin & Goss as a GPS Survey & Modeling Specialist and play a key role in supporting our field operations through technology, accuracy, and innovation. In this position, you’ll manage 3D modeling and GPS Grade Control activities, using Trimble Business Center to create 3D surface models, support takeoffs, and ensure GPS and machine-control equipment is accurate and project-ready. You’ll partner closely with field leadership, project managers, and engineering teams to troubleshoot GPS equipment, establish project controls, coordinate drone flights and data, and train field operators and foremen on Trimble technology. This role offers a mix of office and field work, with travel throughout Wisconsin and occasional travel for training opportunities and larger projects.

We’re looking for someone with at least three years of experience in 3D surface modeling and surveying, including hands-on experience with Trimble Business Center, construction layout, topographic and as-built surveys, and utility and roadway infrastructure. A bachelor’s degree in land surveying, engineering, or a related field is preferred, although an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, collaborative, adaptable, and eager to continue learning, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
