This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Grant Coordinator who will be all-in on our mission and who supports the administration, coordination, and compliance of grant-funded projects to ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and institutional requirements. This position serves as a key resource for grant project teams by providing operational, budgetary, and compliance support throughout the grant lifecycle. The Grant Coordinator collaborates with internal departments, project directors, and external stakeholders to promote effective grant management, maintain accurate records, monitor grant activities and expenditures, and support the successful implementation of grant-funded initiatives.
This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while exercising sound judgment and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and funding requirements.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required: Associate Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Project Management, Higher Education, Communications, or a related field.
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Project Management, Higher Education, Communications, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
Required: One (1) year of administrative, project coordination, compliance, accounting, budgeting, grants management, or related experience.

Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.
Pay grade 11 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices, buildings, and campus locations. The employee must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move office supplies, files, records, and equipment up to twenty-five (25) pounds as needed.
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed to support grant activities, reporting deadlines, and institutional priorities.
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, scanners, and presentation technology. Work requires frequent interaction with employees, project directors, funding agencies, and external stakeholders and may involve managing multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, Cayuse, and other grant management and educational applications. Work may occasionally be performed outside the office with minimal supervision.
