POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Grants Specialist will play an essential role in supporting institutional fundraising efforts through compelling grant writing, prospect research, and grants administration. Working closely with development leadership and cross-functional teams, this individual will develop persuasive funding proposals, communicate program outcomes, and help strengthen relationships with institutional supporters. This is a wonderful opportunity for a detail-oriented, creative writer who enjoys collaborative work and wants to contribute to an organization making a positive difference in communities.

  • Collaborate with development leadership and internal stakeholders to gather program updates, develop persuasive funding narratives, and maintain consistent messaging for institutional supporters.

  • Research prospective foundation and institutional funding opportunities, evaluate funder alignment, and prepare prospect profiles to support fundraising strategies.

  • Maintain grant calendars, track proposal and reporting deadlines, coordinate submissions, and support accurate grant documentation and recordkeeping.

  • Partner with program and finance teams to collect budgets, impact data, and supporting information needed for proposals, reports, and funding applications.

  • Maintain organized grant resources, standard proposal language, and donor records while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable funding requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated nonprofit grant writing experience, including independently developing proposals, letters of inquiry, and funder reports. Strong writing and editing skills are essential, and writing samples will be requested.

  • Excellent research and analytical abilities, with experience identifying prospective funding opportunities and translating complex information into compelling narratives.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, coordinate projects, and collaborate across departments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with donor management or grant tracking systems; experience with Raiser's Edge, Instrumentl, Asana, or similar platforms is a plus.

  • A collaborative, proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine interest in nonprofit fundraising, community impact, and mission-driven work.
