Job Description

Summary:

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri 0800-1700
  • Work Mode: Hybrid-2 days/week at 490 Illinois Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical, financial, and training activities in support of contract and grant proposal development, grant-writing, funding, administration, and budget development.
  • Manage pre-award proposal initiatives, post-award fund management, and closeout activities for federal, state, local, and private sponsors.
  • Analyze research funding trends and sources, forecast, plan, and manage research portfolios.
  • Coordinate, identify, develop, and present proposals, contracts, and other agreements.
  • Review proposals to ensure institutional compliance and program success.
  • Negotiate, administer, and monitor contract and grant awards, ensuring compliance with regulations, terms, and conditions.
  • Handle financial management and reporting, sub award/subcontract issuance, and administration.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors.
  • Advanced knowledge of compliance requirements related to research involving human or animal subjects, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.
  • Ability to manage significant volume of transactions and perform complex financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations including the application of cost principles.
  • Advanced competence in spreadsheet and database software for budget estimations and projections.
  • Strong organization, communication skills, and customer service focus.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and identify workable solutions.
  • Advanced ability to interpret and communicate policies and guidelines effectively.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with research administration business processes and electronic systems (e.g., eProposal, Proposal Express, Grants.gov).
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Pro-active approach and ability to provide quality customer service.
