Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking dependable Grinders for a day-shift manufacturing opportunity in Tulsa. This position is responsible for grinding, smoothing, and finishing metal components while supporting daily fabrication and production operations.

The ideal candidate is comfortable using grinders, hand tools, and power tools in an industrial environment and can maintain consistent quality while working at a steady production pace.

Previous manufacturing or shop experience is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Grind metal components and fabricated parts
• Smooth rough edges and surfaces
• Remove excess material as required
• Prepare metal components for additional fabrication or finishing
• Use grinders and other applicable power tools
• Use basic hand tools as required
• Inspect finished surfaces for quality
• Identify areas requiring additional grinding or finishing
• Handle and position metal components safely
• Maintain consistent workmanship throughout production
• Keep tools and equipment organized
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Assist with additional fabrication or production duties as assigned  

Grinding & Metal Finishing

Candidates may regularly perform:

• Surface grinding
• Edge grinding
• Weld cleanup
• Material removal
• Deburring
• Surface preparation
• Metal finishing
• General fabrication cleanup  

Candidates should be comfortable performing repetitive grinding work while maintaining attention to surface quality.

Tools & Equipment

Candidates may regularly use:

• Hand grinders
• Power grinders
• Basic hand tools
• Other metal-finishing equipment as assigned  

All tools and equipment must be operated according to established safety procedures.

Quality Responsibilities

• Inspect finished work for visible defects
• Verify surfaces are properly ground and finished
• Identify areas requiring additional work
• Maintain consistent workmanship
• Avoid unnecessary damage to components during grinding
• Communicate material or quality concerns to supervisors
• Help ensure finished parts meet applicable production requirements  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Grinder experience
• Metal fabrication experience
• Manufacturing experience
• Industrial shop experience
• Weld cleanup experience
• Metal-finishing experience
• Hand and power tool experience
• General production experience  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for grinder operation
• Ability to safely handle metal components
• Comfortable performing repetitive physical work throughout an extended shift
• Ability to safely work around metal, sparks, power tools, and industrial equipment
• Ability to wear all required PPE  

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing and fabrication environment
• Regular work around metal components, grinders, power tools, and production equipment
• Physically active position involving repetitive grinding and finishing activities
• Consistent Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM schedule
• Fast-paced environment requiring consistent productivity and workmanship
• Strong emphasis on safety, quality, reliability, and dependable attendance
