Superintendent - Ground-Up Multifamily Construction

Our client is a reputable New Jersey-based General Contractor specializing in multifamily and mixed-use projects in New Jersey. With a strong pipeline of upcoming developments, they are seeking a field leader who can successfully drive large-scale residential projects from groundbreaking through turnover.

Job Description

• Oversee all on-site construction activities for a ground-up multifamily project.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Lead daily subcontractor coordination meetings and site walks.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and building codes.
• Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe, organized jobsite.
• Monitor quality control and proactively address field issues before they impact schedule or budget.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, punch list activities, and project closeout requirements.
• Review drawings and identify potential conflicts, constructability concerns, and schedule impacts.
• Maintain detailed daily reports and communicate project progress to ownership and senior management.
• Assist with sequencing, logistics planning, and material deliveries to ensure efficient project execution.

The Successful Applicant

• 8+ years of Superintendent experience with a General Contractor.
• Proven experience leading ground-up multifamily construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, safety practices, and quality control.
• Experience managing large teams of subcontractors and multiple trades simultaneously.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and project scheduling software.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Stable employment history with a track record of successfully delivering multifamily projects on time and within budget.
