GROUNDS ASSISTANT

This is introductory work performing routine grounds maintenance on state owned buildings, campuses, and or premises. Employees in this class serve as trainees who complete on-the-job training which prepares them to independently perform grounds maintenance functions. Vacancies are filled by direct appointment by various departments across the State. No examination is required. No employment register is maintained. Applicants meeting the qualifications below must apply directly to the department for which they wish to work, or to the State Personnel Department to be placed on the direct appointment list for Grounds Assistant.
