Salary placement will be based on Douglas County Board of Education approved salary schedules and years of verified experience.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 246 Days (12 Months)FLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptREPORTS TO: Maintenance ForemanEDUCATION: High School graduate or GED preferred.CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: None.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lift 70 pounds individually and move objects up to 140 pounds with assistance. Be able to climb, stoop, kneel crouch, reach, feel, talk, hear, crawl, and have depth perception. Be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather including cold, hot, wet, and high humidity. Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.PROFICIENT SKILLS:Follow written and oral instructions.Knowledge of tractors, grass cutting and landscaping.Knowledge in pruning, planting shrubs, grass and fertilizers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Maintain valid Georgia driver's license.Maintain clean and organized work vehicle.Maintain all equipment and tools.Responsible for ensuring vehicle is serviced and all safety features are working properly.Safely load, unload and secure all equipment, tools and other items to be transported, either by vehicle or trailer.Schedule required work.Responsible for procuring and returning material from/to stock.Requisition needed materials not stocked.Report immediately safety hazards which affect the welfare of students and system employees.Maintain records of all work requests.Maintain safe work site.Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Applicants should complete an application at www.dcssga.org.
