Liberty Community Programs is a residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program dedicated to helping individuals build healthy, meaningful lives through evidence-based treatment, compassion, accountability, and recovery.
Position Summary
The Group Facilitator is responsible for planning and facilitating engaging, therapeutic psychoeducational and recovery-focused groups for adult residents in our ASAM Level 3.5 residential treatment program. This position plays an important role in creating a positive therapeutic environment while supporting residents in developing the skills needed for long-term recovery.
This position focuses on group facilitation and resident engagement and does not provide individual therapy.
Responsibilities
Facilitate scheduled psychoeducational and recovery groups.
Prepare lesson plans and group materials.
Encourage participation and maintain a safe, respectful group environment.
Complete group documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
Monitor resident participation and communicate concerns to the clinical team.
Collaborate with counselors, case managers, nursing, and leadership.
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and clinical team discussions.
Support a trauma-informed, person-centered treatment environment.
Assist with discharge planning, recovery resources, and vocational readiness activities as assigned.
Requirements
Required
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or a related field:
Psychology
Social Work
Sociology
Human Services
Behavioral Science
Counseling
Criminal Justice
Addiction Studies
Strong communication and group facilitation skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficient with documentation and basic computer skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, residential treatment, or human services.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, CBT, or recovery-oriented practices.
