GSE Laborer - Concrete

H2O Innovation provides public works management services & operations assistance for water & wastewater treatment plants to municipalities, government organizations, and businesses across North America. H2O is currently seeking a GSE Laborer to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. This position performs manual labor and skilled general maintenance duties within the Public Works Department, with an emphasis on concrete work, construction, repair and maintenance of city infrastructure. The position assists with concrete installation, forming, pouring, finishing and repair projects and works under the supervision of an assigned supervisor or crew leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs concrete work, including measuring, mixing, pouring, spreading, leveling and finishing concrete.
• Assists with building, setting and removing concrete forms.
• Performs concrete repairs on sidewalks, curbs, driveways, drainage structures and other city infrastructure.
• Operates hand tools, power tools and construction equipment associated with concrete and general labor activities.
• Assists with preparing work sites, including excavation, grading, clearing and debris removal.
• Performs general labor duties, including digging, shoveling, lifting, hauling and site cleanup.
• Assists other Public Works crews with maintenance, construction and repair projects as needed.
• Follows all departmental safety procedures and uses appropriate PPE.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Skills We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in concrete work, construction or general labor preferred.
• Knowledge of basic concrete techniques including forming, pouring and finishing.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, standing and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Basic knowledge of concrete materials, tools and finishing techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to perform a variety of manual labor duties.

The successful candidate will have to pass a background check which includes criminal background & motor vehicle report checks, as well as drug & alcohol screenings.
