Position Details
Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Early Childhood Education; or
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or
- Equivalent coursework as defined by GSRP guidelines, with willingness to complete additional required training.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be able to pass required background checks.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and meet the physical demands of working with young children.
Various Duties
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering daily instruction aligned with GSRP curriculum, Early Childhood Standards of Quality, and program requirements.
- Assist with ongoing child assessments using approved tools and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support classroom management, instructional planning, and students' individualized needs.
- Engage regularly with families through conferences, newsletters, and ongoing engagement activities.
- Participate in home visits, parent meetings, and family engagement events as required by GSRP guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with licensing regulations, GSRP policies, and program quality standards.
- Attend professional development, coaching sessions, and staff meetings.
- Perform other duties/assignments as assigned by the lead teacher and/or the child care director.
