GUEST SAFETY SUPERVISOR

The Milwaukee Rescue Mission’s programs for men range from meeting their short-term emergency needs, to providing longer term services that can help them break free from addictions, find and keep a job, build confidence and self-esteem and turn their lives around. All with a spiritual foundation.
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is looking for a Christian man to fill a full-time, 3rd shift Guest Safety Supervisor position. The Guest Safety Supervisor oversees the Safe Harbor third shift Guest Safety team, while being available to provide physical security for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 10:00pm-6:00am, weekends as needed. We can offer some flexibility with the shift start/end times. HIRING RANGE: $26.18-$27.63/hour (+ shift differential)
LOCATION: Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversee and supervise the 3rd shift Guest Safety team
- Oversee the safety and security of the Mission, its people and its properties
- Reinforce work performance of Guest Safety staff
- Understand and enforce all operational policies and procedures
- Ensure clear, consistent, and timely communication within Guest Ministries and across other MRM departments
- Reinforce staff development and training
- Help ensure guests understand and follow premise rules and regulations
- Perform first aid and/or life saving measures if necessary
- Perform breathalyzer tests
- Request assistance from emergency personnel for high-risk situations
- Make decisions related to the removal of guests if necessary
- If necessary, remove or assist in removing any person engaged in suspicious or criminal acts
- Help identify and report any security or maintenance concerns
QUALIFICATIONS: - A Christian man with a servant’s heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population
- High School diploma or equivalent GED required
- 2-3 years supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Previous experience in security preferred
- Familiarity with security equipment and practices preferred
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate instructions and coach team members for performance excellence
- Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and mentoring skills
- Detail orientated with strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain calm demeanor and think fast in the face of a crisis or dispute
- Computer literacy and the ability to navigate industry software
- Good report writing skills
- Ability to handle physical workload and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility in staffing a 24/7/365 operation
- Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected
- A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
- Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
- Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
