Job Overview: Our client is seeking a highly motivated Hardware Engineer to design, implement, integrate, and test digital and RF systems, focusing on communication devices. As part of a small, multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of next-generation communications technology through design reviews, trade studies, and hands-on hardware testing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and review PCBs for RF communications systems, including RF and power distribution.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure hardware reliability and performance.
  • Analyze schematic diagrams for custom and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware.
  • Develop and maintain requirements documents, functional specifications, interface control documents, and engineering wiring diagrams.
  • Create and execute project test plans, supporting both lab and field testing.
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, software, and signal processing engineers to implement cutting-edge solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise on hardware solutions, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Support customer integration and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Interface with PCB vendors to communicate requirements and feedback.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.).
  • RF design experience for receivers and transmitters.
  • Proficiency in RF cascade analysis, balancing gain, noise figure, and linearity in system design.
  • Strong knowledge of RF theory and practical application in real-world problem-solving.
  • Understanding of analog data converters (ADCs/DACs) and their interfacing with RF front-end systems.
  • Experience with Linux for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with PCB circuits, including power and control signals.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to independently identify hardware components for project requirements and assist in procurement.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering.
  • Active SECRET Security Clearance (required).
Preferred Skills:
  • Expertise in RF Engineering.
  • Experience designing PCBs for communication systems.
  • Familiarity with COTS electronic hardware solutions.
