Harness Design Engineers

BlueWave is hiring a Harness Design Engineer for an aerospace organization based in Long Beach, California. As a Harness Design Engineer, you will develop detailed 3D electrical harness models and manufacturing drawings while ensuring designs meet vehicle packaging, routing, and integration requirements. Opportunities are available at mid-level and senior experience levels.

Responsibilities

• Design and route electrical harnesses within complex aerospace vehicle structures using Siemens NX.
• Create and modify detailed 3D harness models.
• Generate 2D harness drawings and formboards for manufacturing.
• Work within established electrical architecture and design requirements.
• Account for routing redundancy, clearances, packaging constraints, and installation considerations.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to resolve design challenges.
• Support detailed engineering and manufacturing documentation.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Siemens NX CAD and 3D electrical harness routing.
• Experience designing and routing electrical harnesses within complex vehicle structures.
• Experience creating 3D harness models and 2D engineering drawings or formboards.
• Understanding of electrical harness routing, packaging constraints, redundancy, and installation considerations.
• At least two years of relevant harness design experience for mid-level opportunities.
• At least five years of relevant harness design experience for senior opportunities.
• Aerospace or flight hardware design experience preferred.
• Automotive harness design experience considered for candidates with strong Siemens NX routing experience.
• Experience with product lifecycle management systems preferred but not required.

Employment Type: Contract in Long Beach, California; primarily onsite with potential flexibility for one remote day per week.
