About the Opportunity

A well-established construction company is seeking an experienced Architectural / Structural Drafter to join its team. This position is responsible for developing accurate, detailed construction and fabrication drawings for agricultural, commercial, and industrial building projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction methods, structural detailing, and the importance of producing clear, coordinated drawings that allow projects to move efficiently from design through fabrication and field installation.

Experience with agricultural construction is a plus, particularly for candidates familiar with agricultural buildings, facilities, and related structural systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed architectural and structural construction drawings in accordance with project specifications and company standards.

• Develop construction plans with sufficient detail to support accurate material takeoffs, estimating, and procurement.

• Prepare fabrication drawings that provide the information necessary for proper material fabrication and assembly.

• Ensure drawings contain the details required for field crews to efficiently assemble, erect, and construct projects with minimal questions or clarification.

• Maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality across drawings and project documentation.

• Review drawings for errors, discrepancies, and coordination issues before distribution.

• Incorporate project revisions promptly, clearly identify changes on updated drawings, and provide revised plans to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

• Research project requirements, materials, construction methods, and technical details as needed.

• Follow established CAD standards and drafting procedures.

• Coordinate with Project Managers and other project team members to ensure drawings meet project requirements and support successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Experience in architectural drafting, structural drafting, CAD design, or a related construction design role.

• Proficiency with CAD drafting software; experience with AutoCAD or comparable software is preferred.

• Ability to interpret construction documents, project specifications, sketches, and design requirements.

• Understanding of construction methods, structural systems, and building components.

• Ability to produce detailed drawings suitable for material takeoffs, fabrication, and field construction.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.

• Ability to manage drawing revisions and meet project deadlines.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers and other construction professionals.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with agricultural, commercial, or industrial construction projects.

• Agricultural building or facility design experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with structural steel, metal building systems, fabrication drawings, or related construction detailing is beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary of $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
