Job Description

ABOUT SOCCER 5

Soccer 5 is coming to Texas. Our first location will open in Everman, with six outdoor fields designed to give players, families, teams, coaches, and the community a great place to play and connect.

The facility will host field rentals, pickup soccer, leagues, youth training, camps, birthday parties, and private events.

We're looking for a Head Coach who loves soccer and wants to grow the game. You should be technically strong, hungry, and excited about building a coaching program from the ground up. You'll set the standard on the field, build and lead the coaching staff, and make sure every player who trains with us gets better and, more importantly, has a great time playing soccer.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Head Coach, you own the development of youth programming for our Everman facility and ensure that every player that walks through our door loves the game. Everything else — engagement, parent trust, retention — follows from whether players actually are having a good time. For us, development is important but secondary to the experience that players are having. The goal is to grow the game.

This is a builder role. During launch you'll be on the field yourself, running sessions and setting the tempo. The long-term goal is not for you to coach every session. It's to build a staff of coaches who correct technique, run organized high-energy sessions, and hold the standard when you're not standing next to them.

You'll also be the face families see and trust. You'll own sign ups, renewals, and more.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Evening and weekend availability is required, plus some daytime hours during launch.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Grow a Thriving Program that Brings New Youngsters to the Game

  • Connect with the local schools, clubs, academies, and more to find our niche
  • Run the process end to end to maintain players and ensure they love the experience and keep coming back to Soccer 5
  • Plan and deliver sessions built around a clear technical topic, designed for maximum touches and no players standing idle
  • Progress topics across weeks so players are visibly better a month later, not entertained for an hour.

Leading and Developing Coaches

  • Build, train, and mentor a dependable coaching staff.
  • Hold coaches to the standard — including the well-liked coach who runs loose, unstructured sessions. Have the direct conversation, set the expectation, follow up.
  • Develop your stronger coaches into leaders who can run the field without you.

Running Great Sessions Every Day

  • Equipment out and the first ball rolling on time, every session.
  • Keep sessions safe, organized, high-energy, and ready to deliver a great experience.
  • Solve the problems in front of you without waiting to be told.

Requirements

You don't need a professional playing career. You do need to show that you can coach technique, run an organized session, hold other coaches to a standard, and earn parents' trust.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • At least three years coaching soccer for ages 4–15 — this age range, not only older or adult players.
  • Experience leading, training, or evaluating other coaches. You've been responsible for another adult's performance.
  • Real technical coaching ability: you can design a session around a topic, name coaching cues, and correct an individual player without stopping the group.
  • Comfort building and holding a standard — including the direct conversation with a coach who is liked but not delivering.
  • A track record of evaluating and developing players on observable criteria, not gut feel.
  • The ability to handle an upset parent calmly, with evidence, without caving and without pushing it up the chain.
  • A figure-it-out, take-ownership mentality. You move on incomplete information, solve the problem in front of you, and take the result personally.
  • Availability weekday evenings (roughly 4–9 PM) and Saturday mornings, plus temporary daytime hours (roughly 10 AM–3 PM) during launch.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to schools, businesses, and games.
  • Clear, confident communication with parents. Spanish is a strong plus.
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete SafeSport and concussion certification before your first session.
  • Ability to work actively outdoors and run sessions on the field, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Benefits

WHY JOIN SOCCER 5

  • Work in an active environment built around soccer, community, and bringing people together.
  • Help shape how Soccer 5 coaches as it grows across Texas.
