HEAD GOLF COACH

SUMMARY OF COACHING POSITIONS

Paid coaching positions are granted for one-year terms. Requirements vary according to activity, but in general, the following apply:

General requirements for all coaching positions:

• Ability to establish positive, supportive rapport with student participants
• Knowledge of and adherence to all school district rules and regulations
• Professional conduct appropriate for a positive educational setting
• Supervisory and organizational skills necessary to carry out assigned duties

General requirements for coaching of athletic teams:

• Participation and/or coaching experience in the designated sport or activity
• Ability to teach the techniques, rules and strategies of the sport or activity while treating participants with dignity and respect
• Professional conduct and adherence to supervisory and organization expectations at all times
• Knowledge of and adherence to all San Juan Island School District, League, and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association rules and regulations
• First Aid/CPR, American Sport Education Program, and School District Driver's certification
• Willingness to meet WIAA Coaching Standards requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful coaching experience at appropriate in the designated sport or activity preferred
• Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity a plus
• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
• Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)
• I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
• Completion of all district-required trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date and annually, as required.
