Compensation & Benefits

• $25-$30 per hour, based on education, credentials, and experience
• $1,000 Sign-On/Retention Bonus

Qualifications


Candidates should have qualifying education and credentials for a Head Start preschool Lead Teacher position, including applicable Early Childhood Education/Child Development coursework.


Strong preference will be given to candidates with:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related qualifying field
• Previous Head Start, GSRP, preschool, or early childhood classroom experience
• Experience as a Lead Teacher
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Experience implementing an early childhood curriculum
• Strong classroom management and positive child-guidance skills
• Knowledge of HighScope is a plus

Candidates currently completing an applicable credential or degree program may also be considered if they meet the requirements of our Head Start partnership and applicable licensing requirements.

Responsibilities


The Lead Teacher will:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Create an engaging and nurturing classroom environment
• Implement curriculum with fidelity
• Conduct observations and assessments
• Maintain required classroom documentation
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Support children's social-emotional development
• Maintain active supervision at all times
• Collaborate with teaching partners, administrators, and Head Start partnership staff
• Participate in required professional development and training
