As the Residential Health & Safety Manager, you will play a vital role in protecting and enhancing the well-being of students, staff, and visitors living and working within Duke Universitys residential communities. You will serve as a strategic leader and trusted advisor, partnering with colleagues across Housing & Residence Life, Facilities Management, Occupational & Environmental Safety, Public Safety, and labor partners to foster a culture where safety is everyones responsibility.
Your expertise will help ensure that Dukes residence halls remain safe, compliant, and prepared to support a thriving 24/7 living-learning environment. This position is classified as an Essential Service for campus and weather emergencies.

Required Qualifications
Education
Work generally requires a bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, Physics, Biological Science or related scientific field.
Experience
Work requires three years of progressive experience in biological safety, occupational safety and hygiene, environmental programs, fire safety, ergonomics, OR radiation safety.
A masters degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or other field related to the disciplines listed above may offset one required year of experience.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $65,506.00 to USD $101,595.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidates work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
