About the role.

The Health and Safety Coordinator supports the development and execution of the plant's health, safety, and security strategy. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement in safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a safe working environment. The Coordinator partners closely with the Health & Safety Manager and site leadership to reduce risk, prevent injuries, and strengthen safety culture through audits, training, and proactive initiatives.

What you'll be doing.

  • Support day-to-day compliance with federal, state, provincial, municipal, and company health and safety regulations
  • Conduct regular Key Elements of Safety (KES) inspections of equipment and facilities
  • Partner with safety committees and leadership to promote safe work practices
  • Lead and support health and safety audits, ensuring timely closure of findings and corrective actions
  • Analyze safety data, incidents, and injury trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist supervisors in incident investigations and development of prevention action plans
  • Audit contractor safety management programs, ensuring compliance with training, permitting, and insurance requirements
  • Maintain OSHA/OH&S programs, including documentation, procedures, and annual reviews
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track safety and operational performance
  • Deliver health and safety training to employees and management
  • Collaborate across teams while managing projects independently with minimal supervision

What you'll need to be successful.

  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations (OSHA/OH&S) and compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting health and safety programs in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety data and trends
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and reporting
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems (preferred)

You will be part of the plant's Health & Safety team, working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, site leadership, and employee safety committees. This role plays a key part in supporting a proactive safety culture and ensuring alignment with regional and corporate safety initiatives.

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
