Under direct supervision, the Health Sciences Scholars Specialist supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Health Sciences Scholars Program by providing student mentoring, academic monitoring, career exploration opportunities, and program engagement activities that promote student success and readiness for health sciences education and careers. Working collaboratively with the Program Directors, faculty, staff, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders, this position facilitates program operations, experiential learning opportunities, and student support services to enhance retention, sustain program quality, and strengthen the healthcare workforce pipeline.

Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in an office, classroom, and campus environment with frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, healthcare partners, and community organizations. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating meetings, orientations, workshops, and student engagement activities, as well as occasional travel between campus locations and off-site healthcare facilities or community partner locations for experiential learning opportunities, recruitment, and outreach events. The position requires regular use of computers, instructional technology, and standard office equipment. Evening and weekend activities may be required to support program events and student engagement.

Normal Working Hours: Part-Time, up to 29 hours per week as determined by the supervisor and department needs. Occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours may be required to support orientations, workshops, recruitment activities, student events, healthcare partner engagement, and other program-related functions. The schedule may vary throughout the academic year to accommodate program operations and student needs.
