Heavy Civil Estimator - Build What's Next!

Are you an experienced construction estimator looking for an opportunity to make an impact on major infrastructure projects? We are seeking a detail-oriented Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to support public and private projects involving asphalt paving, concrete, earthwork, and general civil construction.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze construction plans, specifications, contract documents, and project scopes to develop accurate cost estimates and competitive bids.

• Collaborate with area management to establish effective bidding strategies.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to evaluate project requirements.

• Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, resource allocations, and productivity assessments for self-performed work.

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure complete project coverage.

• Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to improve bid competitiveness.

• Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals.

• Negotiate and secure contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.

• Monitor job costs and project performance to improve future estimating accuracy.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Three or more years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.

• Experience with cost estimating, budgeting, and quantity takeoffs.

• Knowledge of heavy civil construction, including earthwork, asphalt paving, and concrete.

• Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

• Integrity, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Experience with Viewpoint, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, or comparable estimating software.
