At Kalmar, we're searching for a hands-on problem solver in Memphis, TN who thrives on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment in a fast-paced intermodal environment. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for troubleshooting and repairs on Kalmar and third-party equipment, delivering high-quality service, clear technical insights, and detailed reporting that keeps operations moving without interruption. Your work won't just fix equipment-it will power critical supply chains across the globe.

Compensation Data

• Base Salary: $26- $30 per hour
• Eligible for Annual Bonus
• Now Offering: Sign-On Bonus

What are your key responsibilities:

• Diagnosis & Repair: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Electronics diagnosis & repair of Kalmar and third-party intermodal cargo handling equipment
• Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventative maintenance in accordance with service plans and OEM recommendations.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate tools and equipment, including hand tools, pneumatic/electric tools, forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes.
• Technical Documentation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics, while supporting processes like work orders, inspection reports, and labor tracking
• Customer and Team Collaboration: Collaborate with customer maintenance personnel and Kalmar technical support to coordinate service efforts, and train or guide customer staff and junior technicians when required

What you bring to the role:

• Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance strongly preferred. Preference given to U.S. military veterans and candidates with Kalmar equipment experience.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining or repairing heavy industrial equipment, with exposure to electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
• Technical Expertise: Ability to read and work from schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting guides. Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems is a plus.
• Safety Commitment: Strong awareness and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and your colleagues, including being comfortable working in a field environment and at elevated heights.
• Independent Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, work ethic, and self-discipline to work independently while following contract-specific procedures and expectations.
• Team Player: Excellent communication and documentation skills with a customer-focused and team-oriented mindset.
