REPORTS TO: Small Tool, Vehicle or Equipment Maintenance Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 5%
WORK SCHEDULE: Day Shift
POSITION SUMMARY
The mechanic will be responsible for inspection, diagnosis, repair, and service of construction equipment, diesel trucks, and vehicles and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or any combination of education and professional experience that would meet the responsibilities listed above.
Two years of experience in a similar role and trade certification is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical one-line diagrams with an ability to read and understand their diagrams.
Capable of taking direction and working in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail with a desire to problem solve.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily a mechanic shop environment.

The following outlines how much on-the-job time is spent on specific physical activities. Under 1/3 of your time will be spent walking, sitting, tasting or smelling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Up to 2/3 of your time will be spent standing, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Over 2/3 of your time will be spent using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking or hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Mechanic shop environment that requires extensive use of hand and power tools.
