Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, and motor graders.
- Perform site preparation, excavation, trenching, grading, and leveling.
- Move and position heavy materials as needed.
- Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections.
- Check fluid levels, hydraulic systems, and grease equipment components.
- Identify and report mechanical issues to help prevent equipment downtime.
- Follow OSHA regulations, site-specific safety procedures, and equipment operating guidelines.
- Maintain awareness of underground utilities, overhead power lines, and load-capacity requirements.
- Read and interpret site layouts, grade stakes, and construction drawings.
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other crew members to complete projects safely and on schedule.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of heavy equipment operating experience.
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Ability to understand grade stakes, site plans, and construction drawings.
- Strong awareness of job-site safety procedures.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Shifts:
- Monday-Friday
