GPS tools may be used. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be part of a team working together toward completion of projects and tasks.DUTIESPerform all operations using safety best methods, other operating best methods, and in compliance with JMAC Resources' safety policies and practices or Operate various kinds of civil construction heavy equipment such as a dozer, scraper, excavator, backhoe, trenchers, etc. Complete assigned projects and tasks referring to projects plans and according to instructions from supervisorRead and interpret line and grade informationSetup, read, and interpret GPS information for equipment equipped with GPSWork together as a team to complete tasks and projectsCommunicate job progress and questions/issues to supervisor and co-workers on a timely basisPerform daily maintenance requirements on equipmentPromptly report all equipment issues to supervisorInteract with customers, landowners, the general public, and co-workers courteously and respectfullyUtilize safety restraints and personal protective equipment (PPE)REQUIREMENTSJob Specific RequirementsMinimum 1 year of experience in operating heavy equipment Possess working knowledge and skill regarding the operation of various pieces of earthmoving equipmentDemonstrated understanding of safety and operating best methods for construction heavy equipment and civil construction projectsBasic understanding of grade information from plans or grade stakes Basic understanding of soils as needed to complete tasks safety and effectivelyAbility to successfully pass CAT Heavy Equipment Operator training via computer based training method.
