A growing transportation and specialized logistics company is seeking an experienced CDL-A Heavy Haul Driver for regional and over-the-road assignments involving oversized and overweight freight.

We are looking for a safety-focused professional with strong experience operating specialized trailer configurations and transporting complex loads while maintaining full compliance with state and federal regulations.

This opportunity is ideal for drivers who take pride in professionalism, attention to detail, and operating high-value equipment safely and efficiently.

Position Overview

The selected driver will be responsible for hauling oversized and overweight freight across designated regional and interstate routes. This role requires experience with specialized heavy haul equipment, permit compliance, route planning, and load securement procedures.

Candidates must be capable of managing demanding transport assignments while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of heavy haul and oversized load driving experience
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Current DOT medical certification
  • TWIC credential required
  • Clean criminal background
  • Acceptable driving history and MVR
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety practices

Equipment Experience

Qualified applicants should have hands-on experience with:

  • Multi-axle trailer combinations
  • Beam trailer configurations
  • Lowboy and RGN trailers
  • Stretch trailers
  • Flat and deck trailer systems
  • Specialized heavy haul setups up to 12 axles

Desired Knowledge & Skills

  • Oversize and overweight permit procedures
  • Proper load securement techniques
  • Axle weight distribution and scaling
  • Route surveys and trip planning
  • Escort coordination and travel restrictions
  • State-by-state heavy haul compliance knowledge
  • Experience hauling freight exceeding 140,000 lbs.
  • Ability to identify equipment maintenance concerns
  • Professional communication with customers and enforcement agencies

Primary Responsibilities

  • Transport oversized freight safely and efficiently
  • Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Ensure cargo is secured according to regulations and company standards
  • Operate within approved permit routes and restrictions
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and escort personnel
  • Maintain accurate logs and shipping documentation
  • Operate equipment professionally and responsibly
  • Represent the company positively with customers and the public
