Heavy Highway Structural Carpenter/ Concrete Finisher

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Highway Structural Carpenter / Concrete Finisher to join our field operations team. This role is responsible for constructing concrete forms, placing and finishing concrete, and supporting structural work on highway and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy highway or commercial structural construction and a commitment to safety, quality, and production performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, set, and align concrete forms for roads, bridges, curbs, gutters, and structural components

• Place, pour, and finish concrete to proper grade and specifications

• Perform concrete finishing tasks including floating, troweling, edging, and repairing surfaces

• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes

• Install reinforcing steel (rebar) and support structural placement

• Work around paving equipment, slipform machines, and heavy highway operations

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site

• Follow all company and DOT safety standards and procedures

• Work as part of a crew to meet production and project deadlines

This position is one in which a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to themselves and others; therefore, this position is classified as safety sensitive.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in heavy highway construction OR commercial/structural concrete work

• Proven experience with formwork, concrete placement, and finishing

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications

• Strong work ethic and ability to perform in physically demanding environments

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Must be able to lift, carry, and perform manual labor throughout the workday

• All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening. Testing requirements may be Non-DOT or DOT regulated depending on the position applied for.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with DOT highway standards and specifications

• Ability to operate basic construction equipment (skid steer, power tools, etc.)

• Valid Driver's License
