About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Fabrication Associate to join our client's team in the heavy industrial sector. In this role, you will contribute to the operation of machinery for pipe fabrication, ensure quality control by checking welds and leaks, and manage the manual offloading and banding of pipes.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to put grooves into pipes for couplings.
• Check welds and inspect for leaks.
• Manually offload parts from machines and use banding machines to band pipes together.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures for pipe fabrication.
• Set up and maintain machines in the fabrication shop.
• Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately.
• Cut pipe using band saws and/or torches following proper procedures.
• Thread and bevel pipes using Landis machines.
• Move loose or bundled pipes within the pipe yard.
• Assemble pipe orders and maintain work supplies in an organized manner.
• Observe necessary safety precautions for fabrication, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping of pipes.
• Inspect and maintain all forklift equipment in functional condition.

Requirements

• Possess good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Demonstrate superior math skills and the ability to calculate quantities of product on hand.
• Knowledge of safe work practices required in the pipe yard.
• Operation of machinery for cutting and threading pipe according to OSHA regulations and Client Safety Policies (training provided on site).
• Ability to remain results-focused in a fast-paced customer service environment.

Preferred Qualifications (if any)

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with Landis machines and band saws.

Salary & Benefits (Optional)

Monday through Friday 5 am to 1:30 pm with overtime, typically working 10-hour days. 1/2 hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid 15-minute breaks.
