Heavy Industrial - Welder

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced welder to join our client's team in the heavy industrial sector. In this role, you will contribute to performing specialty welding tasks, ensuring high-quality welds, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a NAP (universal Welder)
• Perform specialty welding tasks on spool pieces, flanges, etc.
• Conduct MIG welding on carbon steel pipes
• Inspect work for defects and ensure proper alignment of fittings
• Check the end grooves for proper depth and identify any bad seams or splits in pipes
• Maintain a clean and safe welding station while conforming to all safety and quality standards
• Report all equipment malfunctions and safety issues that require repairs

Requirements

• 3-5 years of welding and fabrication background
• Ability to read a tape measure
• 1 year of computer experience, including Outlook/Email
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• General reading and writing skills
• Willingness to work 2nd shift hours: 3pm-1:30am, Mon-Thurs, with mandatory overtime on Fridays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with safety and quality standards in a welding environment
• Familiarity with online training platforms like Workday
