Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Miami, FL
Position: Full-Time | Local | No Overnight Travel

One of our clients, a highly respected and well-established heavy civil contractor with a strong presence throughout the East Coast, is looking to add experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to their team in the Miami, Florida area!

The best part? NO overnight travel! This position is primarily shop-based, with occasional trips to local job sites for equipment maintenance and repairs. You'll be home every night!

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment and machinery.

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine servicing.

• Work on hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems.

• Troubleshoot equipment failures and complete necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

• Service and repair equipment primarily in the shop, with occasional visits to local Miami-area job sites.

• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.

• Follow company safety procedures and equipment maintenance standards.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic, preferably within heavy civil construction.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.

• Experience working on excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, and other heavy construction equipment.

• Experience with drilling rigs, pile-driving equipment, or foundation machinery is highly desirable!

• Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.

• Relevant mechanical certifications or technical training preferred.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety.
