Utilizes the district approved curriculum Plans and implements a program of academic studies for which the individual is employed Works closely with colleagues within the department when planning the academic program Provides and maintains an educational environment supportive of learning Plans a program of evaluation relative to course objectives and student progress Follows IEP plans and 504 plans, as required Identifies student needs and actively works toward satisfying those needs Effectively communicates with parents, relating information of relevance and meaning Uses the state and district approved vendor(s) for storing student data Establishes and maintains appropriate standards of behavior management Works continuously toward self-improvement through the active pursuit of professional development activities Participates in district and school level committees designed to foster continuing improvement and growth Actively participates in the Delaware Performance Appraisal Process Performs other duties assigned by the Building/District Administration Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team Enthusiastic and positive manner with students Possesses knowledge of mathematical best practices of instruction Possesses experience in technology-based instruction and analyzes data to make informed decisions about students' instructional needs Possesses knowledge and experience in Common Core, state standards Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet State of Delaware certification requirements and possess highly qualified teacher status in high school mathematics Preferred Qualifications: Secondary teaching experience Willingness to perform extra-duty functions Dually Certified in Special Education.
