High School Science Teacher - Interim (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Centerville-Abington Community Schools is seeking a licensed High School Science Teacher to serve in a temporary/interim role to cover a maternity leave.

This position is needed to ensure continuity of instruction in a high school science classroom and is not a permanent opening.

The assignment is expected to begin in early October (following an anticipated due date of October 9) and continue through the end of the first semester, concluding prior to winter break. The current teacher is expected to return at the start of second semester.

Qualifications:

• Valid Indiana teaching license in Secondary Science (or eligible for licensure)
• Strong background in high school science content
• Prior classroom teaching experience at the secondary level preferred
• Ability to maintain instruction, classroom management, and grading responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily instruction aligned with course standards
• Maintain classroom routines, assessment, and student progress monitoring
• Communicate professionally with students, staff, and families
• Support continuity of learning during the teacher's leave
