Duties

SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER/COUNSELOR

Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School is seeking a caring, collaborative, and student-centered School Social Worker/School Counselor to join our team. We are looking for someone who believes in building strong relationships and removing barriers so every student has the opportunity to succeed.

This person will provide comprehensive social-emotional and behavioral support services for students while partnering with families, staff, and community agencies to foster student success. Responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling, responding to student crises, connecting families with community resources, and collaborating with school staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will be an active member of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), helping identify student needs, implement interventions, and support school-wide Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives. The position also includes participating in special education evaluations, contributing to eligibility determinations, and providing services outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, values teamwork, and is committed to helping every student feel connected, supported, and prepared for success.

Qualifications

Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in School Social Work or School Counseling.

Salary/Benefits

Salary schedule and benefits can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Arthur CUSD 305 and the Arthur Education Association.
