    About Whitnall School District

    Whitnall is looking for an energetic Special Education Paraprofessional who will work to assist students during the school day. Qualified candidates must be able to work with a variety of students with disabilities and will support students'' academic and emotional needs within the special education and regular education environment. The hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 7:30-2:45.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Attend to individualized student educational/health/physical needs during the school day.

    2. Contribute to educational planning through observation (condition/behavior) and collaboration.

    3. Employ positive techniques and strategies which encourage and/or strengthen productive behavior.

    4. Assist students/staff with non-structured or specific study setting needs.

    5. Communicate effectively/tactfully with students, families, staff, and outside agencies.

    6. Work under protocols established by the school team (Administrators, Educators, Pupil Services).

    7. Perform role responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • either a Special Education Program Aide license or be eligible to apply for the DPI Special Education Program Aide License (The school district can assist with the application process)
    • CPI Training or ability to be trained
    • a valid driver''s license
