    Job Description

    Client Profile- Indiana based company specializing in providing commercial maintenance services.

     

    Job Summary- Responsible for supervising and delegating work to a crew of 5 to 8 employees; maintain the cleanliness of interstate roads, highways and roadways for the safety of traveling public.  Must have a valid driver license and comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.

     

    Duties

    • Directly supervise commercial maintenance crew of 5 to 8 employees.

    • Ensure employees are transported to designated work area daily, equipped with necessary equipment, proper work attire and personal protection; motivate and coach team in order to achieve daily job goals.

    • Work is performed outside in varying weather conditions- hot or cold, wind, rain and snow, dust, pollen, rough/rugged grass and plants, trash

    • Standing for extended time doing traffic control; picking up highway/roadway traffic signs

    • Walking long distances for litter control; loading and unloading trash bags

    • Ensure employees comply with safety standards; comfortable with reading and interpreting documents, manuals, instructions, etc.

    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures

    • Plan, delegate and review daily task with crew

    • Facilitate conflict resolution between employees

    • Report and communicate quality, any hazards to field management and if necessary to executive team.

    • Additional duties as assigned by management
       




    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience maintaining roads, operating equipment including self propelled broom, roller and or mower

    • Prior traffic control training a plus

    • Must have a valid driver license if in a Supervisor role

    • Comfortable working in all weather conditions; using hands, ability to lift up to 50 pounds; climbing, reaching kneeling, etc.

    • Organized with ability to multitask and prioritize workflow

    • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (felonies are addressed on a case by case base) and drug screen

    • Hours: M-F 7am to 4pm (1 hour lunch), occasional Saturdays; some travel in designated metropolitan area(s)

    • Starting pay up to $20.00 hourly (negotiable for the right person). No group health insurance- other incentives, PTO and vacation; bonus included
