Pay Range: $37 - $39/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement workflow systems for accurate and timely completion of medical records.
- Interface with physicians and staff to optimize documentation processes.
- Manage the department budget, seeking opportunities to decrease costs and improve service quality.
- Establish and monitor departmental goals, policies, and procedures in line with professional standards.
- Train and oversee department employees, tracking productivity and performance.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide training on concurrent review, abstracting, and coding of medical records.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Records Management, or equivalent experience.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of prior experience in a Medical Records department.
- 2 years of supervisory experience in Medical Records management.
- In-depth understanding of state/federal regulations and compliance standards (CMRI, NCQA, The Joint Commission).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with various software used in medical records management.
- Must have at least one of the following certifications:
- CCS – Certified Coding Specialist
- RHIA – Registered Health Information Administrator
- RHIT – Registered Health Information Technician
