Histology Technician PRN (32762)

Position purpose

The Histology Technician's main responsibility is to perform all functions in the histology lab to include embedding, microtomy, staining and filing.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

• Must be proficient in the following areas:
• Embedding
• Microtomy
• Routine Staining
• Special Staining/immunohistochemistry
• File slides, block and paperwork in alpha-numeric order
• Equipment use and quality control
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: HT or HTL (ASCP) or eligible required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in histology preferred.

Requirements for PRN Status:

• PRN employees must not work more than 29 hours per week or 1000 hours per year.
• PRN employees must not work a reoccurring schedule.
